Pever Gunda started her show career as two year old heifer. In the first year she was unbeaten in her class at every show and won three championships: Braco, Perth & Strathaven.

Over the next two years Gunda remained on top and won a further fifteen championships.

Thanks to Gunda "Desswoods" greatest acalade is winning six Jubilee Champion Rosettes and one Reserve Champion Rosette. She is the only Simmental cow known to have ever done this.

Gunda's ambitious daughter Desswood Gracious was certainly following in her mother's footsteps and was soon winning more and more of her classes at the shows. Gunda "graciously" retired to allow her daughter to take over.

Gracious has had a great show career. In 1997 she was the first "Junior Female Champion" at the Royal Highland Show, and at The Royal Show she was 5th in her class, out of 39 entries! At a local level she continued with good progress. In 1998 as a two year old, Gracious was "Reserve Female Champion" at the Highland and in a class of 15 at the Royal, she won 3rd place. Once again, success continued at the local shows.

Sister Desswood Katrine also enjoyed show success, as "Maiden Heifer Bred by Exhibitor" at Doune and Dunblane show she was champion.

At 18 months old she was the "Continental Champion" at the Scottish National Winter Fair, beating tough competition from breeds such as Belgian Blue and Blonde D'Aquitaine. A great achievement for any Simmy!

Desswood Lady is another winner for us, although she didn't start her show career as early as her mother and sisters, but that hasn't discouraged her.

In her first year, 2004 she won five championships. In 2005 to date, she has won three Championships and two Interbreed Championships.

Lady's greatest achievement so far has been winning the "Interbreed Championship" at Braco show, the first time a simmy has had such success at Braco for 25 years.

Our latest purchase from the Drumsleed line, Peppermint, would also appear to be a winning team, time will tell.............
